عنوان فارسی رویکرد ایرانیان سده بیستم به الگوی ژاپنی در روند مدرن‌سازی* (با تکیه بر مدرن‌سازی آموزشی و آموزش زنان)
چکیده فارسی مقاله رویکرد ایرانیان به ژاپن به عنوان الگوی شرقی و نمونه موفق مدرن‌سازی در سده بیستم، دلایل متعددی دارد. بخشی از این دلایل مربوط به پیشینه‌ و سوابق مطلوب این الگو در ذهن ایرانیان سده نوزده و برخی دیگر مربوط به وجوه اشتراک و همسانی‌هایی است که این دو جامعه را به هم پیوند می‌داد. در کنار این دلایل، تاثیر لطمه‌های ناشی از تکاپوهای استعماری کشورهای غربی ـ که منجربه بروز احساسات شدید بیگانه هراسی به‌ویژه در مورد روس و انگلیس شد ـ نیز درخور توجه است. مقاله حاضر ضمن بررسی علل این رویکرد، با تاکید بر مدرن‌سازی آموزشی و آموزش زنان، بازتاب آن را در جراید و افکار عمومی نمایان ساخته است. در این بررسی نشان داده شده است که نخبگان فکری سیاسی در رویارویی بااین الگو صرفاً به بیان مصادیق پیشرفت‌های ژاپن در عرصه‌های مختلف پرداخته‌اند و از تبیین و واکاوی علل ترقی غفلت ورزیده‌اند.

عنوان انگلیسی The approach of the 20th century Iranians to the Japanese model of modernization: the case of educational modernity and the education of women
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله The fact that Iranians have attempted to imitate Japan as an Eastern model of modernity and a successful example of modernization has several reasons. Some of these reasons are rooted in the backgrounds and the acceptable records of Japan as a model of modernization and the other reasons go back to the common points and interests which link the two countries. In addition to these reasons, the effects of the devastating efforts of colonizers such as Russia and England which led to strong fears from foreigners must not be disregarded. The present article attempts to investigate the reasons for this approach and the factors which caused the modernization of education and education of women on a Japanese basis, and the reflections of these initiatives in magazines and news papers. This article reveals that the political elite and the intellectuals in Iran only paid attention to the signs and samples of modernity and modernization in Iran and have disregarded the causes for Japan's success as a modern nation. Therefore, they have failed to explain and investigate the causes for the success of Japan.
