عنوان فارسی تاثیر پزشکان انگلیسی بر مناسبات سیاسی ایران و انگلیس در عصر قاجار(۱۲۱۰-۱۳۱۳ه.ق)
چکیده فارسی مقاله چکیده ایران در عصر قاجار به دلیل موقعیت استراتژیکی و نزدیکی به هند در معرض نفوذ کشورهای استعماری به ویژه انگلستان قرار گرفت. حفاظت از هند در برابر تهدیدات دیگر کشورهای اروپایی از جمله روسیه و فرانسه برای انگلستان امری حیاتی بود و این خود بر مناسبات سیاسی ایران و انگلیس تاثیر بسزایی داشت. یکی از راهکارهای انگلیس برای تحقق منافع سیاسی خویش، اعزام پزشکانی متبحر به ایران بود. دغدغه اصلی این مقاله نشان دادن تاثیری است که این پزشکان انگلیسی از جمله طبیبان مخصوص شاه و طبقات اشراف، پزشکان عضو هیات‌های سیاسی و نظامی برمناسبات سیاسی ایران و انگلیس بر جای نهادند. این پژوهش با روشی توصیفی- تحلیلی و با اتکا بر خاطرات شخصی پزشکان، سفرنامه‌ها و گزارشات سیاسی و سایر منابع مرتبط نشان داده است که پزشکان انگلیسی به دلیل تخصص پزشکی خود جایگاه برجسته‌ای در دربار، حرمسرا و در جامعه ‌یافتند و ازاین طریق توانستند علاوه بر نقشی که در بهبود وضعیت پزشکی ایران ایفا می‌کنند نفوذ خود را در مناسبات سیاسی ایران و انگلیس نیز اعمال کنند و با ارسال گزارشات و اخبار، جلب نظر متنفذین سیاسی ایران و نفوذ در انعقاد برخی از قراردادها منافع سیاسی دولت متبوع خویش را پیش ببرند.

عنوان انگلیسی The influence of English doctors on the political relations between Iran and England during the Qajar Era
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Abstract Due to its strategic location and its proximity to India, Iran was faced with the growing influence and domination of Colonial powers especially Britain during the Qajar era. Protecting India against threats by other European countries including Russia and France was extremely vital for Britain and this had a significant impact on Iran and Britain’s political relations. One of the methods of the British to establish and advance their political agenda was to send professional doctors to Iran. The main objective of this research is to highlight the influence of British doctors either as private physicians of the king (Shah) and the nobility or as a part of military, political and religious missions, on Iran and Britain’s political relations. This research makes use of the descriptive-analytical method, and focuses on the British doctors' diaries, travel journals and political reports to show that British physicians gained a prominent position in the royal household and also in the society due to their medical expertise. This in turn empowered them to influence the political relationship between Iran and Britain and to advance the political interest of their government by sending reports and news, attracting the attention of influential Iranian political figures, and influencing the endorsement of treaties and contracts.
