عنوان فارسی اکولوژی، منظر و طراحی اکولوژیک منظر
چکیده فارسی مقاله به‌عنوان یک حرفه در حال توسعه، چالش‌های متعددی پیش روی معماری منظر در خاورمیانه وجود دارد. از ‌یک سو، دشواری معرفت‌شناختی در بسترسازی مفاهیم غربی و معانی لایه‌ای واژۀ منظر نسبت به پیچیدگی‌های جغرافیایی و فرهنگی منطقه؛ و از سوی دیگر، چالش رهانیدنِ پیش‌فرض‌های موجود در ادراک منظر، از تمرکز صرف بر سیما و به‌عبارتی منظر به مثابۀ چشم‌انداز. یک نگاه محدود و غیرزمینه‌گرا، که از دریافت میراث منظرین غنی خاورمیانه ناتوان است، ظرفیت‌های منظر را به‌عنوان یک چارچوب مطالعاتی میان‌رشته‌ایِ تضعیف کرده و حیطۀ حرفۀ معماری منظر را به زیباسازی سطحی و ظاهری محدود می‌سازد. این مقاله رویکرد کل‌نگر و پویای طراحی اکولوژیک منظر را مطرح می‌کند، با این استدلال که اکولوژی می‌تواند الف) معنای منظر را، فراتر از اینجا و اکنون، زمینه‌گرا کند، پاسخگوی اکولوژی منطقه باشد و میراث تاریخی و بومی منظر را ادغام کند؛ و ب) مباحث معماری منظر را گسترش دهد تا نه تنها سیما و نمود ظاهری را در بر گیرد، بلکه شامل ابعاد محیطی، اکولوژیک، اجتماعی- اقتصادی و سیاسی نیز باشد. برای نشان دادن پیچیدگی و انطباق‌پذیری یک چارچوب منظرین کل‌نگر، و قابلیت‌های آن در پیشبرد پژوهش‌ها و فعالیت‌های حرفه‌ای معماری منظر، گستره‌ای از کاربردهای آن ذکر شده است.

چکیده انگلیسی مقاله As a profession in the making, there are several challenges facing landscape architecture in the Middle East. On the one hand, there is the epistemological problematic of contextualizing the Western, layered meaning of the word landscape to the geographical and cultural complexity of the region. On the other hand, there is the challenge of liberating current pre-conceptions of landscape from the focus on appearance, namely of landscape as scenery. A decontextualized, narrow understanding fails to draw on the rich historical landscape heritage of the Middle East, undermines the potential of landscape as an interdisciplinary investigative framework and restricts the professional scope of landscape architecture to superficial beautification. This paper advances the holistic, dynamic approach of ecological landscape design, arguing that ecology can (a) contextualize the meaning of landscape, beyond the here and now, to respond to regional ecology and incorporate historical and vernacular landscape heritage and (b) expand the discourse of landscape architecture to embrace not only appearance but also environmental, ecological, socio-economic and political dimensions. A range of applications are cited to demonstrate the complexity and versatility of a holistic landscape framework and its potential in advancing scholarship and professional practice in landscape architecture.
