عنوان انگلیسی A Comparative Study of Two Short Stories: "Unique Flower" by Mansour Yaghouti and "Gloom" by Chekhov
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله At the beginning of the twentieth century, due to variousreasons, Iranian fiction was influenced by the works of the world's greatwriters. In this process, Russian writers had the major contribution. AmongRussian writers, Chekhov's works received the major attention and weretranslated into Persian. Many studies have been conducted to assess how thisfamous writer has influenced some of the great contemporary Iranian novelists.Mansour Yaghouti is among the writers who seems to have been influenced byChekhov while writing one of his fictions entitled "Unique flower".Seemingly, he followed and modeled the structure and content of some shortstories by Chekhov entitled "Sorrow", "The Lament", and"The Gloom" which have been translated into Persian and publishedseveral times in Iran. The numerous similarities between these two stories interms of structure and content brings this question into mind that, hadYaghouti been under the influence of Chekhov when writing his fiction? Thisstudy aims to answer this question through comparing and analysing thesimilarities between the two stories from various aspects.
