چکیده فارسی مقاله آدمی برای زیستن در جهان نیازمند دلیل است.به تعبیر دیگر «برای» چه هدفی هستیم و باید زندگی کنیم؟ اگر این«برای» نباشد، انسان از جهت‌دهی به فعالیت‌های روزمره خود ناتوان خواهد بود. اماهمه سخن بر سر این است که این «برای» را از کجا می‏توان آورد؟ آیا این «برای» درساختار طبیعت نهاده شده و باید آن را جستجو و کشف کرد؟ و یا اینکه این «برای» عینیتینداشته و تنها وابسته به شخص subjective بوده و هر کس باید یک «برای» برای زندگی خود تعریف کند؟ بر ایناساس این سؤال قابل طرح است که آیا معنا امری فراطبیعی است و یا اینکه می‌توان باطرد عناصر متافیزیکی، همچنان از معناداری زندگی سخن گفت؟ آلبر کامو یکی از اندیشمندانسده بیستم است که از منظری ویژه، مسئله معنای زندگی را مطرح کرده و با منحصر ساختنزندگی در همین زیست جهان، معناداری زندگی را پذیرفته است، که در این مقاله باتوجهبه نظریه اگزیستانسیالیسم و فلسفه پوچی به این موضوع پرداخته خواهد شد.

چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Human beings need a compelling reason tolive. In other words, "for what" purpose are we here and why shouldwe live? If there is no "for", human beings will be incapable ofdoing their everyday activities and will not know how to spend their lives.However, all discussions are about this question: where can we access this"for"? Is this "for" placed in the nature of human beingsand should we achieve this by search and exploration? Or is it that this"for" has no objectivity and is a subjective matter and every personhas a unique definition of it for his life? In other words, is the meaning oflife an exploratory issue or is it independent of human beings? Or it is anissue dependent on the subject who should create it creatively? In case thateach one of these ideas is considered, what is the method and possibilities ofsuch exploration or creation? An even more important question which ispresented in line with the previous questions is whether basically meaning is asupernatural issue or does it belong to a field other than life in this world?In this arena, Albert Camus is one of the 20th century scholars who presentsthe issue of the meaning of life from a particular perspective and by removingmetaphysical ideas and limiting life to this world, accepts the meaningfulness of life.
