عنوان انگلیسی Is There any Difference in the Survival of Conversion TKA After Previous HTO In Compare to Previous UKA? Factors to be Considered When Offering a Surgery
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) and valgus high tibial osteotomy (HTO) are reliable treatments for medial unicompartmental knee osteoarthritis, which are often indicated in relatively young and active patients. However, when the aforementioned surgical procedures fail or the osteoarthritis progresses, patients are offered conversion to the total knee arthroplasty (TKA). It has been recently published that a previous UKA more than doubles the risk of revision than a previous HTO. Although such study has some important limitations, the aforesaid risk must be taken into account when offering surgery to help patients contribute in shared-decision making.
