چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Introduction: Patient safety is one of the main challenges in the field of healthcare. Theincrease in patient safety and care quality are now amongst the main priorities of hospitals.Patient safety culture is directly associated with the incidence of adverse events. Hence, thepresent study aimed to investigate patient safety culture from the perspective of healthcarestaff in Abu-Ali Sina Organ Transplantation Center, Shiraz, Iran.Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 763 healthcare staff in Abu-Ali SinaOrgan Transplantation Center in 2019. The study data were collected using the HospitalSurvey on Patient Safety Culture Questionnaire (HSPSCQ) whose reliability and validitywere approved. The data were analyzed using the SPSS software and p statistically significant.Results: The majority of the participants were female (65.66%), aged 20-30 years (79.4%).Scores 50-70% were for ‘supervisor/manager expectations and actions promoting patientsafety’, ‘organizational learning-continuous improvement’, and ‘teamwork within units’.However, scores below 50% were to ‘the frequency of events reported’, ‘overall perceptionsof patient safety’, ‘communication openness’, ‘feedback & communication about errors’, ‘nonpunitiveresponse to errors’, ‘staffing’, ‘management support for patient safety’, ‘teamworkacross units’, and ‘handoffs and transitions’.Conclusion: Patient safety culture was scored low to moderate in Abu-Ali Sina OrganTransplant Center. Therefore, authorities are recommended to train the employees and holdworkshops for promoting patient safety culture in this center.
