چکیده فارسی مقاله چکیده مکاتب ادبی و روش‌ها، اهداف، و ویژگی‌های آن رهاورد مغرب‌‌زمین است. با وجود این، باید به بررسی مکاتب غربی همت گماشت. در این راستا مؤلف شرقی، که برای نگارش مکاتب ادبی تلاش می‌کند، نباید ویژگی‌های بومی و محلی را در اثر خود فراموش کند. یوسف عید در کتاب المدارس الادبیه و مذاهبها، که در دو جلد نوشته شده است، انواع مکاتب ادبی غرب را بررسی کرده و تلاش نموده است ویژگی‌های ادبی مکاتب مغرب‌زمین را در مراحل ادبی عربی اجرا نماید. او جلد اول کتابش را به بررسی تئوریک و نظری مکاتب اختصاص داده است؛ جلد دوم نیز ظاهراً به بررسی و تطبیق اشعار و متون با تئوری‌ها و آرایی است که در جلد اول مطرح نموده است. این اثر اشکالاتی دارد که از مهم‌ترین آن‌ها می‌توان به این موارد اشاره کرد: عدم تناسب حجم و محتوای کتاب برای یک درس دوواحدی، عدم ظهور و بروز شخصیت علمی نویسنده در کتاب، عدم تناسب محتوای کتاب با توانایی‌های فراگیران به سبب وجود اصطلاحات مبهم و سخت و نبود تعریفی برای آن، یک ‌دست نبودن بررسی مکاتب ادبی در هر دو جلد کتاب، و عدم جامعیت متن مذکور. در این پژوهش، به شیوه توصیفی ـ تحلیلی به نقد و تحلیل کتاب این نویسنده گران‌قدر پرداخته شده است.
