چکیده فارسی مقاله خودآئینی هنر و استقلال آن از هر نوع غایت بیرونی یکی از مهم‌ترین مفاهیم برخاسته از دل هنر مدرن - و احتمالا وجه ممیزۀ آن از اشکال مختلف هنر سنتی - است که با واکنش‌های مثبت و منفی متباینی از جانب فلسفۀ هنر مواجه شده است. مقالۀ حاضر در پی بررسی دو نمونۀ سرشت‌نما از این واکنش‌ها است که به ترتیب به تئودور آدورنو و والتر بنیامین تعلق دارند. هرچند عموماً: این دو متفکر از چهره‌های تأثیرگذار نحله موسوم به «مکتب فرانکفورت» شناخته می‌شود و در نتیجه، همگرایی‌های موجود در آثار آن‌ها برجسته می‌گردد؛ اما چنانکه خواهیم دید نحوۀ واکنش آن‌ها به هنر مدرن کمابیش واگرا به نظر می‌رسد. واگرایی‌ای از این دست، از یکسو می‌تواند به فهم وجوه مختلف جنبش مدرنیستی در هنر یاری رساند و از سوی دیگر، مقدمۀ درک عمیق‌تر آرای هر یک از دو چهرۀ مزبور گردد.

عنوان انگلیسی The Concept of Art’s Autonomy in Benjamin and Adorno
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Art’s autonomy and its independence from any sort of external aim, is one of the most important concepts rising from the modern art and in a sense, what constitutes the very border between modern and traditional arts. While the Philosophy of art has shown many different positive or negative reactions to the autonomy of art, the present article tries to study and compare two exemplary reactions which belong to Theodor Adorno and Walter Benjamin. Scholars usually tend to categorize these two thinkers under the rather vague term “the Frankfurt School” and then put the stress on the convergences between their ideas but in the case of art, as we shall see, Benjamin and Adorno seem somehow divergent. This divergence can on the one hand, help us comprehend the different aspects of modern art and on the other, it can pave the way for a deeper understanding regarding each of these two figures.
