چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Islamic Messianism (mahdawiyya ) and reappearance of the promised Mahd i in the End Times are among the ideological principles accepted by all Islamic sects. Furthermore, Imam Mahd i's birth is one of the indubitable beliefs in the Shi`i culture. The perspective of most of the Sunnis in this respect, however, is different. They deny that he has ever been born; although a number of Sunni writers are in agreement with the Shi`i viewpoint. In this paper, while examining the above issue from the two aforementioned perspectives, some reasons are provided to disprove the Sunni's viewpoint.
