چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Ja bir b. Hayyan is one of the enigmatic personalities in the Islamic and Shi'a history. Clarification of his personality is of high importance in the history of science, for it displays Muslims appreciation of science, particularly chemistry. Since the late nineteen century, the orientalists have proceeded to conducting serious research on Ja bir and his works, accomplishing more research on him than Muslims did. Reviewing ancient Islamic sources, the Writer has in this article introduced the orientalists' viewpoints concerning Ja bir.
