چکیده انگلیسی مقاله One of the outstanding figures in the early periods of Islam and Shi'ism is Muhammad b. Abi Bakr. Although he was young, he had a great impact on the socio-political developments during the caliphate of 'Uthma n and Imam Ali (A.S.). His revelations in the latter part of'Utma n's rule and his obstinate opposition to 'Utman's governors and commanders are indisputable.This article is attempting to review such issues as the virtues and viewpoints of Muhammad b. Abi Bakr; his role in the opposition to 'Uthma n and his murder, his relations and correspondence with ImamAli (A.S.); the viewpoints of the Infallible Imams (A.S) toward him; his confrontation with the covenant breakers (nakithin) of Jamal, his governorship in Egypt; his relations and conflicts with Mu'awiya and the recluse followers of 'Uthman; and the reasons for his failure in Egypt and his martyrdom.
