چکیده انگلیسی مقاله This article is aimed at introducing one of the relatively old rituals performed in the Holy Shrine of Imam Rida (A.S.). Study of longlasting rituals in the holy places, suitably prepares the ground for further research in the culture and social history of Astan Quds Razawi and the city of Mashhad.The Dust Removing Ritual is among the surviving ceremonies, which dates back to hundreds of years ago and is still being performed on special occasions and within special rites, while preserving its historical and religious tone.Having originally started for the purpose of cleaning, purifying and removing of dust from the holy shrine and the sacred gravestone inside, this ritual has gradually and with the pessage of time and due to social requisites turned into a special ceremony, attracting the attention of the pilgrims, citizens, and the A. Q. R Organization itself. At present, the ceremony is performed within special rites under the supervision of the Deputy of the Holy Places Department and in the presence of the related executors, the A. Q. R. officials, and the invited guests.
