عنوان انگلیسی Splinting in congenital hand anomalies: Systematic review
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Aims: The treatment of pediatric hand anomalies has been controversial, and agreement on the gold standard for the treatment of this malformation in children has yet to be ambiguous. Methods: The aim of present study is to review the splinting in congenital hand anomalies. In this study, a research method published from 1990 to 2023 focusing on the splinting in congenital hand anomalies in ProQuest, PubMed, Scopus and EMBASE databases. Findings: 344 articles were obtained in the review and finally 13 articles were reviewed. Among those 13 articles, 6 were at evidence level I (1 RCTs and 5 reviews), 2 were at evidence level II, 2 were at evidence level III, 1 was at evidence level IV, and 2 were at evidence level V. the methodological quality assessment of the 1 and 5 included RCTs and systematic review studies showed studies had moderate-to-high quality based on the PEDro and AMSTAR scale respectively scoring ≥5.  Conclusion: Based on the results, the use of splint alone in the function of the upper limbs of children with a variety of congenital hand anomalies cannot be presented as an effective solution. And using the splints as a first line of congenital hand anomalies in children can be useful if it is prescribe during of infancy and in some congenital anomalies like trigger thumb and radial club hand and .The best treatment process for children with other hand anomalies is surgery and timely prescription of splint.
