عنوان انگلیسی The Role Of Antibiotics In Reducing The Days Of Hospital Admission In Patients With Acute Severe Bronchial Asthma
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Aims: bronchial asthma is chronic bronchospastic disease of the air way, and one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality.  The aim of the study is to show the important of using antibiotics in the management of acute asthmatic attacks in patients admitted to hospital.
Patients and methods: A  cross section study of  seventy asthmatic patients diagnosed out of one hundred diagnosed as acute sever bronchial asthma their duration of disease  from  five  to twenty years, mean duration of 8.57+_5.01, their ages ranges from 21  to 72 years with mean ages 44.46+_13.20.   admitted during the period from  January 2017 to January 2018 in Al-Mawani General Hospital, patient   were subjected to recording their general character like, age, gender, duration of disease, treatment used, their stay in hospital in days .  
Results: this study shows that the additions of antibiotic to the regimen of acute asthmatic attacks, shows, statistically significant effects if used in early (p value 13.703, dif:3 p value 0.003)  .The addition of second antibiotics in combination also statistically significantly if given In comparison of long and short stays in hospital for single antibiotic (value: 9.023, dif:3, p value:0.029). No statistically significant was found about the effect of duration of asthma regarding the effectiveness of antibiotics on the days of hospital stays.  
Conclusions: using of antibiotic as additional treatments to standard therapy of acute severe asthma shows important role as  treatment of asthmatic patients admitted to hospital. Ages and not duration of asthma are most important factors.
