عنوان انگلیسی A reflection on the assumption of linguistic argument over “the Prophetic Reading of the Universe” claim concerning the speaker of Qur'an
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله According to the common belief of Muslims, the holy Qur’an is the word of God (Kalām-ullāh), and announcer of the truths God sent down to the prophet of Islam (PBUH) in the framework of a set of words called Qur’an. Along with the development of human knowledge in philosophy of language and linguistics, as well as the emergence of a number of practical and speculative themes in the contemporary Muslim world, different assumptions concerning the belief have emerged. “The Prophetic Reading of the Universe” is the title of serial essays addressing a different attitude towards Qur’anic revelation (i.e. Waḥy). One of the questions the mentioned assumption seeks to answer in a different manner, concerns identifying the speaker of Qur’an. According to the assumption; the speaker is the prophet Muḥammad (PBUH). This assumption sets forth a set of arguments, the present paper is a reflective critique over one of them; the linguistic one. Hence, the present study first determines the formation of this argument and then evaluates its linguistic and philosophical major premises. The reflections indicate that the argument weakened by a number of shortcomings, making its acceptance so difficult.
