چکیده انگلیسی مقاله One of the most important thinkers that Heidegger is concerned with is Descartes. One of the critical encounters between them is based on Descartes' concept of the world. The Cartesian world is a space reduced to extension. In his "Being and Time", Heidegger offers a new conception of the world as the totality of references which are the condition of meaning for tools. Dasein is placed inside the world, unlike the Cartesian world which was an idea in the subject's mind. After "Being and time", this Cartesian concept of the world is criticizes in a bunch of pieces. In "The Age of the World-Picture" and "Question Concerning Technology", Heidegger narrates the story of the world being reduced to an energy resource. This is the upshot of the Cartesian idea of the world. In this essay we will elaborate on these points and give a presentation of Heidegger's critique of the Cartesian concept of the world.
