Materials and Methods: In this descriptive study, 112 people were investigated. After ten hours of fasting, serum levels of vitamin D, cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglyceride were measured. Data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance and Pearson’s correlation coefficient. Results: There was a significant association between serum levels of vitamin D and more favorable LDL, cholesterol, and HDL levels (p<0.05). In obese individuals, high levels of this vitamin were associated only with higher HDL levels. In vitamin D consumers, blood cholesterol level was significantly lower (p<0.05), but vitamin D supplementation did not show a statistically significant association with LDL and triglyceride levels (p=0.0456). Conclusion: Blood levels of vitamin D are associated with more favorable levels of LDL and HDL and cholesterol, especially in women. More studies are suggested to investigate this relationship. Keywords: Vitamin D, Lipid, Cholesterol, Triglyceride, Low-density lipoprotein, High-density lipoprotein Funding: This study did not have any funds. Conflict of interest: None declared.
