عنوان انگلیسی A Survey for Measuring Social Acceptability of Cycling in Metropolises Case Study, Tehran Metropolis
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Along with increasing role of automobiles in cities and appearance of its Negative impacts for humans and environment, intentions have gone to decrease its use and making substitution to other ways like public and sustainable transportation, gradually. In this regard, Bicycle as a mode of travel is recognized to urban clean transportation, with several economic, and environmental benefits. City of Tehran, like another developing metropolis suffers from traffic and transport problems as a major infrastructure in the city. In spite of an effective role of sustainable modes of travel like walking and cycling, these modes weren't necessary consideration yet, and they haven’t a good situation in modal share of city now. The purpose of this study is measuring public acceptability of bicycle use in Tehran. Because of Prevalent physical oriented approach, it is necessary to study determinants of cycling from social and psychological view. This study is done with a quantitative research method based on extended theory of planned behavior as a full usage theory in this area, and enhancing the theory with features of built environment. This study has used a researcher-made questionnaire between 495 men gender respondents of Tehran metropolis and Stratified Sampling. Finding of this study with confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling, Indicated that first, all parameters of the designed method have a significant relation to cycling. Secondly unlike previous research, bicycle and cycling among Tehran residents had a good image and priority of intervention must change to remove deterrents and increase incentives for acceptance of using the bicycle as a mode of transport. Furthermore, between psychological determinants of cycling behavior, health feature had the most important items in attitude variable and social norms had a more relation rather than to attitude in cycling. At norm's item, injunctive norms and Descriptive Norms had a most effect, relatively. Perceived behavioral control had a lowest effect between variables. In addition, according to spearman correlation in psychological belief items, perceived features were most factors to forming attitude variable and meanwhile health, benefit and transport necessity had most relations. Besides, effect's features of built environment in cycling were significant. Finally, results of study have compared with another research in cycling experience around the world, and some recommendation is done in this area
