عنوان انگلیسی A Nano-Silica Coating Strategy for the Attenuation of Gasoline Vapor Emissions from Storage Tanks
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Overall, the evaporation of petroleum products can have a significant negative impact on the environment and human health. It is important to implement measures to reduce evaporation and minimize these environmental effects. Some of the adverse effects of evaporation of petroleum products are: A). Air pollution, B). Greenhouse gas emissions, C). Acid rain, D). soil contamination and E). Water pollution. This study evaluated gasoline evaporation from fixed-roof and floating-roof storage tanks with and without nano-coatings. Evaporation was highest during the summer months (June-August). Internal floating-roof tanks had the lowest overall evaporation (0.96%), followed by external floating-roof tanks (1.14%) and fixed-roof tanks (1.24%). Nano-coatings on fixed roof tanks reduced evaporation by 44.3% compared to conventional fixed roof tanks. Compared to external floating roof tanks, nano-coated fixed roof tanks had a 36% reduction in evaporation. Compared to internal floating roof tanks, nano-coated fixed roof tanks had a 17% reduction.
