عنوان انگلیسی The Implicit shame Model in the novel Cities of Salt by Abdul Rahman Munif )In light of cultural criticism)
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله The cultural pattern may be in songs, costumes, stories, and proverbs, just as it might be in poems, stories, novels, popular melodies, and other forms of art. In all of these arts, hidden within their aesthetic and rhetorical folds, there is a latent cultural pattern, which the critic cannot perceive except by using special tools. The novel “Cities of Salt” by Abdul Rahman Munif reveals the existence of a system of shame that controls the actions of the characters. This study, relying on the analytical-descriptive approach and in the light of cultural criticism that examines implicit cultural patterns, attempted to monitor and analyze the pattern of shame implicit in the novel “Cities of Salt” by the novelist Abd al-Rahman Munif. The study also deals with some ideas, concepts and reflection in the text. The study reached a set of results: The most important of them is that the values of the Salt Cities community are derived from religion, customs, and traditions. the control of society and religion (external control) prevails over the individual to prevent him from making mistakes, and there is no control from the individual over himself (internal control). when making a mistake, the individual feels shame after exposing the matter to others.
