چکیده انگلیسی مقاله AbstractNarratology and especially time issue in narration is one of new knowledge of literary criticism and narration in the recent decades. Time is the main element of story and text in the linear alternation of events in the story. The French man Gérard Genette is one of most successful theorizing of time narration who has presented his theory in three forms, “order, continuity and frequency”, Julia Keristeva also believed that the time of narration and the text time classify into two forms; linear and periodical , as matter of fact, the linear one is dramatic and the text time is narrative. This study examines the short story entitled Baad Az Zohr Sabz by Mostafa Mastoor and Dumah Vd Hamed by Tayeb Saleh, Sudanian well known novelist, it aims to assign the time element, linear time and periodical time due to descriptive-analytical methods of comparative literature, in order to show the frequent lapse of time, the closeness of two theories in narration (periodical time) and dramatic (linear) are almost common in two works due to Gérard Genette’s time-line and Keristeva’s periodical time out of this fact that Dumah Vd Hamed is more narrative especially due to Keristeva’s periodical time.
