عنوان انگلیسی Molecularly Imprinted Polymeric Nanoparticles as Effective Materials for Sensing Biomarkers and Targeted Therapy of Breast Cancer
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله According to the World Health Organization, with more than 2.3 million cases of breast cancer annually, this disease is reported as the most common cause of death among women. Therefore, early detection of breast cancer is very important to reduce the mortality rate of women. In general, evaluation of cancer tissues is one of the most reliable and at the same time the most time-consuming methods and considering the low concentration of cancer cells at the beginning of the disease, new methods with greater sensitivity are needed. In this case, molecularly imprinted polymers are man-made receptors with special binding holes that are the same size, shape, and function as template molecules which are used in diagnostic sensors. Also, molecularly imprinted polymers have been employed as among the most interesting biomaterials for therapeutic approaches.
Considering the global Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign and the importance of this issue for better understanding, the detection of biomarkers of breast cancer by molecularly imprinted polymers and the role of molecularly imprinted polymers in the treatment of breast cancer is discussed, in this review. The purpose of this article is to help readers and researchers comprehend how molecularly imprinted polymers could be used to identify breast cancer’s biomarkers as a diagnostic element in sensors.
