P-7: Determination of Some of Serum Biochemical Markers in Fatty Liver Diseases
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله
Objective: Fatty liver (FL) has become the most common form of liver disease, is a growing public health problem. It’s clinical manisfests are usually absent. Fatty liver disease include a broad spectrum of fat-induced liver injury. A two-hit model has been proposed in the pathogenesis of steatohepatitis. Despite the serious risks associated with Steatohepatitis, there are few tools for monitoring the progression of the disease and identification of high-risk patients. Liver biopsy is the gold standard for the diagnosis of fatty liver. Determination some of serum biomarkers in fatty liver disease. Materials and Methods: Subjects with normal liver (30) and fatty liver sonogram (30) were randomly colleted. Anthropometric parameters, fasting glucose, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), cholesterol and albumin concentrations were measured in each subject. Results: Blood pressure was significantly higher, while fasting glucose was significantly lower in patients with fatty liver. The mean AST was 36.37 ± 34.39 in fatty liver patients and 22.45 ± 5.25 (IU/L) in control (p=0.03). The mean cholesterol concentrations was 219.93 ± 49.14 (mg/dl) in fatty liver patients and 179.07 ± 38.08 (mg/dl) in control group (p=0.03). The mean albumin concentrations was 4.75 ± 0.28 (g/dL) in fatty liver and 4.63 ± 0.26 (g/dL) in control group (p=0.56). Conclusion: Serum cholesterol concentrations, AST activity and blood pressure were significantly higher, but albumin and blood sugar was significantly lower in fatty liver.
