عنوان انگلیسی P-43: The Study of Radiosensitivity in Left Handed Compared to Right Handed Healthy and Breast Cancer Individuals by Cytogenetic Analysis: Preliminary Report
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Objective: Radiosensitivity depends on many factors such as radiation as well as biological system factors. Some reports indicate that breast cancer, immune diseases (including autoimmune diseases such as: lupus, Myasthenia Gravies) and even the rate of allergy are more frequent in left-handed individuals. The main goal of the present study is the determination of radiosensitivity in left handed in comparison with right handed in healthy and breast cancer individuals by cytogenetic assay. Materials and Methods: Peripheral venous blood samples (10 ml) of 60 healthy people and 60 breast cancer patients (30 left and 30 right handed) are divided into two identical parts (5ml). One part is exposed to 2 Gy Co-60 gamma rays and the second part is considered as non-exposed controls. Lymphocytes are cultured in standard media and cytokinesis blocked to score micronuclei in bi-nucleated cells. The frequency of micronuclei in 1000 cells in each sample is considered as the rate of radiosensitivity and is compared in healthy individuals as well as breast cancer patients in left and right handed groups by appropriate statistical analysis. Results: A preliminary study of blood samples from 7 healthy people (6 right handed and 1 left handed) have shown that left handed people are more radiosensitive than right handed in healthy people. Data analyze by t-test from this samples (by CI: 95%) have shown that difference of radiosensitivity between right handed and left handed is significant (pvalue= 0.031).
