عنوان انگلیسی I-6: Investigation of Matrix Metaloproteinase-2 Levels as Effective Factor in Acute Myocardial Infarction
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Objective: Myocardial infarction results in myocardium remodeling and change its structure and function. The role of matrix metaloproteinase (MMP) family during myocardium remodeling is an important factor regards to detection of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). In this study, we investigate the gene expression and presence of MMP-2 in the patient with myocardial infarction to compare with control cases. Materials and Methods: In this study, Immunoblotting analysis was carried out in 50 patients and 50 control cases for detection of MMP-2. Gene expression of MMP-2 analyzed with RT-PCR. Results: The results showed that the levels of MMP-2 increase in patient with AMI and release the metabolites in the blood. This protein was detected in serum of patient with AMI with MMP-2 monoclonal antibody. MMP-2 was not detected in control cases with any family background of AMI and only little amount of MMP-2 were detected in controls with mentioned background. RT-PCR results showed that the expression of MMP-2 gene has increased. Conclusion: To our knowledge, the present study is the first of its kind to examine the presence of MMP-2 protein and analyses of its gene in Iranian population. The results of this study can help to early detection of AMI and finally treatment of it
