O-4: The Measurements of CD107a+ Cells inResidents of High and Ordinary Natural Back Ground Radiation Areas of Ramsar-Iran-
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله
Objective: CD107a also known as lysosome-associated membrane protein 1 (LAMP-1), is a membrane glycoprotein. It is a widely expressed intracellular protein located in the lysosomal/endosomal membrane. CD107a transiently located on the cell membrane can be used as a marker of CD8+ T cell degranulation following stimulation. It is also expressed, to a lower extent, on activated NK cells. The high natural background radiation area (HNBRA) of Ramsar-Iran especially Talesh Mahalleh (a village near Ramsar), has been the subject of concern in the last forty years for a high level of radiation measured in some spots as high as 260 mSv y-1. Recent studies showed that the high level of natural radiation in inhabitants of this area, paradoxically don’t have significant health effect such as cancer induction, among this individuals. In this study, the count and the percentage of lymphocyte cells with CD107a expression was compared with the inhabitants of Chaparsar (another village in Ramsar as Ordinary Background Radiation area). Materials and Methods: Blood samples of 30 healthy people from each village, in K3EDTA tubes, carried to Tooba Lab. Sari, Iran, within 8 hours. The enumeration of lymphocyte and also CD107a+ cells was performed by monoclonal anti CD45 and anti CD107a antibodies by means of flowcytometry, without any delay. Results: The count and percentage of CD107a also CD45 counts were higher in control group that have lesser background radiation. Conclusion: These data don’t show that the NK and CTL cells of HNBRA inhabitants are more active.
