چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Background: Maintaining and promoting work ability is an important social objective and are challenges facing the health care and rehabilitation system, as well as employers. Physical and mental health status impact on work ability. The aim of this study is to determine the impact of aerobic training on work ability midwives to work in health care centers in the city of Mashhad. Materials and Methods: This randomized clinical trial, health care centers 1 and 3 selected randomized, any center divided randomized to the intervention or control groups, then 60 midwives working in health centers of Mashhad were selected through purposeful methods. The intervention group did aerobic training with intensity 30 to 60 percent of maximum oxygen consumption during 24 sessions. Subjects performed the Bruce test At the baseline and At the end of the study and completed questionnaire work ability index. The data were analyzed with SPSS 19 and tests Independent t-student, Paired sample t test, Mann-Whitney and Chi squared test. p< 0.05 Was considered significant. Results: The mean score work ability in intervention group (40.5 ± 4.9) significantly more than the control group (36.4 ± 5.3) (p=0.004). There are significant difference between two groups in two sub scales, Work ability compared with life time best (p< 0.0001) and mental resources (p=0.036).Conclusion: Aerobic training increased work ability midwives. It is proposed to managers for Promotion work ability midwives to work in health care centers.
