چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Background: To determine the effectiveness of pregnant women empowerment program on elements of empowerment and their satisfaction of prenatal cares. Materials and Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted at a prenatal clinic. The total number of samples were 70; that pregnant women were randomly assigned to either control (n=35) or experimental group (n=35). Women in the experimental group received their prenatal care (5 sessions) through four groups of women with the same gestational age. Data collected by two scales as follows: empowerment scale for pregnant women, and participation and satisfaction questionnaire. Results: Seventy women were recruited to the study and 61 ultimately received all their prenatal care (5 sessions). There were no significant differences between control and experimental groups, with whole demographic variables. There were significant differences between control and experimental groups, whit empowerment score (p= 0.013), and satisfaction score (p< 0.001). Conclusion: Pregnant women empowerment program provided three components of care as follows: prenatal assessment, education, and social support. These components enhanced empowerment of pregnant women.
