چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Rosenberg mentions to the “prima facie right to live”, “likelihood of arbitrary aggressions” and “excellence of moral autonomy”, to which opponents of euthanasia appeal, and “possibility of preventing abuses”, and “necessity of avoiding incurable suffering” as its advocate’s resort. The dispute according to him is not about any fact, but rises from disagreement with the scope of human rights; from whether we consider the “moral” kind of human individuals, subject to their “natural” or “functional” kind. Given the personhood of all human offspring as justifiable, Rosenberg regards the two parties far in discord to answer if this is an inalienable status. He takes the “moral” kind of the person like a “legal” kind, a bestowed entity, not a factual one, with an absolute negative passive right to live. Noting the confusion of desirability with permissibility of euthanasia, Rosenberg considers the analytic philosophy as to settle that, but eventually, counts the moral desirability of euthanasia an open problem, to be judged due to customs and scientific evolutions and accordingly, undergoing gradual changes.Rosenberg’s view suffers from objections such as begging the question and being relative and contradictory, all of which refer somehow to his materialist attitude towards the human being’s nature.
