عنوان فارسی بررسی تأثیر اندیشه ایرانی بر افلاطون
چکیده فارسی مقاله   سخن دربارۀ تأثیرپذیری فلاسفۀ یونان باستان به‌ویژه افلاطون از اندیشۀ شرقیان و ایران باستان، بسیار گفته شده است. آثار گوناگونی از خود متفکران غربی نیز دربارۀ این مسئله بر‌جای مانده است. ما در این مقاله بر آنیم تا گوشه‌ای از این تأثیرپذیری را در اندیشۀ فلسفی افلاطون، بازخوانی کنیم. نظر برخی مورخان غربی فلسفه دربارۀ زادگاه و منشأ فلسفه، نظر ما را جلب کرده است. امیل بریه بر آن است که نمی‌توان پاسخ قطعی به این مسئله داد. دو نظر متقابل از دورۀ باستان دراین‌باره مطرح بوده است. بریه می‌گوید یونانیان، فلسفه را ابداع نکردند، بلکه آن را از اقوام غیریونانی به ارث بردند. شارل ورنر معتقد است که یونانیان خود را مدیون شرقیان می‌دانستند و بر این نکته آگاه بودند و هر زمان از علوم و تمدن شرق سخن رانده‌اند، همراه با احترام بسیار بوده است.افلاطون ازجمله فیلسوفانی است که متأثر از تفکر شرقی و ایران باستان شناخته می‌شود. او در مسئلۀ مُثل، حکیم حاکم، طبقه‌بندی در مدینۀ فاضله و ... از اندیشۀ شرقیان و ایران باستان که پیش از وی بدان پرداخته‌اند، بهره گرفته است و توانسته با دقت و امعان نظر، آن‌ها را در فلسفۀ خویش بازخوانی کند.

عنوان انگلیسی A Scrutiny of the Influence of Iranian Thought upon Plato
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله There is a robust proliferative mainstream of narrations about the ancient easterners' and Iranians' thought impact upon the ancient Greek philosophers. From western thinkers, there has remained a valuable works concerning the impact. In this article, my main objective is to somewhat reread this susceptibility of Plato's philosophical thought. My attention is attracted toward some western philosophy historians' views pertaining to the origin and provenance of philosophy. Émile Bréhier contends that there is no definite response to this problem. Since ancient times, there have been two opposite stances upon this issue. Bréhier maintains that the Greeks themselves did not excogitate philosophy but inherited it from non-Greek peoples. Charles Werner holds that the Greeks did owe their philosophy-doing to the easterners, and were entirely aware of this fact, and have portrayed heartily respect while speaking of the eastern civilization and sciences. Plato can be recognized as one among many others who has been influenced by the ancient eastern and Iranian thought. He has benefited mostly from the ancient easterners' and Iranians' thought in formulating such theories as ideas or forms, philosopher ruler, different human taxonomies within Ideal State (or Utopia), etc. He has been able to reread and scrutinize these theories within his own philosophy.
