چکیده فارسی مقاله اهمیت محیط به عنوان بستر پویای فعالیت ­های انسانی همچنان بحث محوری علوم مخصوصاً جغرافیا است و علیت محیطی همراه با توانایی­ های بشری در خلق چشم اندازها و جایگاه ­های زندگی مشغول به کار است تعابیر جبر محیطی و نیز جبر فرهنگی وجوه تندی از گرایش ­های علّی است که در جغرافیای علمی امروز تعدیل گردیده، برای هر کدام از عوامل محیط و انسان شأن واقعی و صحیح آن منظور شده به جای آنها اصطلاح علیت محیطی مطرح می ­باشد. انسان امروز می­ کوشد با قانونمندی ­های جغرافیایی از سیاره فیزیکی یک سیاره فرهنگی ساخته، با تعادل بین انسان و محیط، زندگی سالمی برای همگان میسر ساخته، محیط را سامان داده به عنوان خانه انسان آبادان نگاه دارد. موضوع مورد بررسی مقاله علیت محیطی است که از یک طرف به دلیل علمیت و حساسیت مرزبندی آن مشکل و برای تحلیل صحیح آن، مباحثی دیگر را به عنوان پیش نیاز می ­طلبد از طرف دیگر گستردگی و ظارفت آنف ایجاب می­ کند محدوده مطلب را در نظر داشته از مباحث حاشیه­ ای و توصیفی صرف نظر نمائیم لذا بیشتر به نکات اساسی و کلیدی و کلاکی- که کمتر مطرح شده پرداخته، مطالب گزینشی خود را مطابق فهرست زیر تنظیم نمائیم: (مقدمه)- بررسی لغوی- علیت- جبر و اختیار- جبرگرایی- اختیارگرایی- علیت محیطی- نتیجه­ گیری (و منابع)

چکیده انگلیسی مقاله The importance of environment as the dynamic context of human activities is still the major topic of sciences especially geography, and the environmental causality is active along with human abilities in creation of landscapes and living places. The terms "environmental coercion" and "cultural coercion" represent sharp aspects of causal attitudes which have been modified in today's scientific geography in which every environmental factor and human being have been given their real position, leading to creation of the term "environmental causality".Today human tries to turn this physical planet into a "cultural planet", and to provide every person with a healthy life, organize the environment and keep it as human being's "abode."The subject studied in this paper is the environmental causality which, one the one hand, requires other discussions as prerequisite due to scientific approach and sensitivity of determination of the problem's limits, and on the other, its breadth and delicacy necessitates keeping content of any research about it within certain limits and avoiding marginal and descriptive discussions; therefore, we mostly pay attention to fundamental and major points which have received less attention, and sort our material according to the following list:Introduction, lexical examination, causality, determinism and free will, determinism, free will, environmental causality, conclusion and sources.
