چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE FA MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Introduction: Being able to choose the newborn's gender, has always been one of the human being's wishes. Since in many cases, parents tend to have children of both genders, this study aimed to find out effective factors on gender probability of children. Methods: This study was a historical cohort that covered 3057 subjects in 45 clusters, each included 67 families. The population studied compromised women at 15-49 years of age who had at least two children (single fetus), without abortion, ectopic pregnancy or molar pregnancy as well as no diagnostic difficulty in child sex. Data collection was done through observation and questionnaire. Results were analyzed with ANOVA, stepwise multivariate and logistic regression by SPSS software. Results: Thirty four probabilities of gender births were studied in this research by logistic regression analysis. Data showed that the probability of the third boy after two girls is more than 50% and the probability of the fourth girl after three boys is less than 50% (P< 0.05). Also, the probability of the fifth boy after four girls had a significant relation with methods of family planning. Conclusion : Results of this research helps parents to have children of two genders (girl and boy) and enables them to make good decisions on further pregnancies with better intervals. Researcher recommends consultation with parents on time interval between children's birth and the gender of siblings they tend to have.
