عنوان انگلیسی The Effect of Initial Infestation on Population Fluctuation and Spatial Distribution of Panonychus citri on Thamdon Navel Orange
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Citrus red mite (CRM), Panonychus citri (McGregor 1916) (Acari: Tetranychidae), is one of the important citrus pests in northern Iran. In this research, the effect of different densities of CRM on population changes and the spatial distribution pattern of this pest during the years 2016-17 was studied. In this research, multi-treatment and paired-treatment experimental methods were used. To determine the spatial distribution pattern of CRM, Taylor’s Power Law and Iwao’s Patchiness methods were applied. The results of changes in the current population of CRM via multi-treatment method revealed that a significant difference existed between treatments at a level of 1%; however, in 2017, a higher population of pests was observed. Also, the examination results of the average changes in the population of CRM in the paired-treatment experiment showed that significant differences existed between treatments in 2016; however in 2017 no significant difference existed between the treatments. The results of this study revealed that the majority of the pest life stages (70-90%) were related to the egg stage. The examination of population changes on different sampling dates showed that the highest population density of the pest was during summer, and the population declined in the fall. The results of the spatial distribution pattern of CRM in all Taylor’s method are often aggregated and in the case of a population decline by 0.59, the numbers of different life stages of CRM on the leaves are random. The computational results of the Iwao’s method indicated that treatment with population density was higher than 10.59 and lower than 0.59 but the different life stages of CRM on the leaves exhibited a randomized spatial distribution pattern, however the gap between this population was aggregated. Therefore, the results of the experiment showed that different densities of CRM in determined treatments affect population density and spatial distribution pattern of the CRM which results from the biological and ecological characteristics of this pest.
