عنوان فارسی مناسبات دین و دولت در آیین مسیح
چکیده فارسی مقاله از مهم‌ترین موضوعات در ادیان و جوامع دینی، مناسبات دین و دولت و نحوۀ مواجهه و تعامل این دو با یکدیگر است. این مناسبات در طول تاریخ مسیحیت دارای فراز و فرود است. بر اساس مبانی نظری و عملی مسیحیت، که برگرفته از کتاب مقدس و نظر و عمل شخص عیسی (ع) و رسولان است، مسیحیت برنامۀ کلان اجتماعی و سیاسی ندارد، دین از سیاست جداست، مسیحیان ملزم به اطاعت از حکومت‌ها هستند و مسیحیت اولیه دارای سکوت‏ گرایی سیاسی و انزواگزینی اجتماعی است؛ اما پس از رسمی شدن مسیحیت در قرن چهارم، این قاعده به‌هم ریخت و مسیحیان، به‌رغم مبانی خود، به‌صورت جدی وارد اجتماع و سیاست شدند و تا آنجا پیش رفتند که بر سر حق حاکمیت‌ با پادشاهان به نزاع و جنگ پرداختند و آیین «دو شمشیر» را به وجود آوردند. این نوشتار به‌ شیوۀ مطالعۀ منابع و تاریخ مسیحیت و با هدف آگاهی‌بخشی دربارۀ مناسبات میان مسیحیت و سیاست، از آغاز تا پایان قرون میانه، مناسبات دین و دولت در این آیین را به تصویر کشیده است.

عنوان انگلیسی Relations between religion and state in Christianity
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله One of the most important issues in religions and religious communities is relation between religion and state. This relationship in Christianity, throughout its history had ups and downs. Based on the theoretical and practical principles of Christianity, which is derived from the Bible and the views and actions of Jesus Christ and the apostles, Christianity does not have a social and political program. In Christianity, religion is distinct from politics and people are obliged to obey the government. In its initial approach, Christianity had political silence and social isolation. But after the official formation in the fourth century, this rule changed and Christians, despite their foundations, entered society and politics seriously, and went so far as they quarreled and fought with kings on sovereignty and created "Doctrine of the two swords". In any way, by studying the sources and history of Christianity and in order to raise awareness about the relation between Church and state from the beginning to the end of the Middle Ages, the article illustrated this relationship.
