عنوان فارسی ارزیابی سلامت روان و ارتباط آن با پیشرفت تحصیلی در دانشجویان دانشکده پزشکی دانشگاه علوم پزشکی کرمانشاه

سابقه و هدف: از آنجایی که دانشجویان پزشکی با حجم کاری سنگین، مسئولیت‌های بالینی و محیط‌ رقابتی، سطح استرس بالایی را تجربه می‌کنند که می‌تواند بر سلامت روان و عملکرد آنها تأثیر منفی بگذارد. این مطالعه با هدف بررسی وضعیت سلامت روان دانشجویان پزشکی دانشگاه علوم پزشکی کرمانشاه و همبستگی آن با پیشرفت تحصیلی انجام شد.
مواد و روشها: بدین منظور 222 دانشجوی پزشکی بصورت تصادفی انتخاب شده و معدل ترم گذشته یا دیپلم آنها از اداره اموزش دریافت شد. با استفاده از پرسشنامه سلامت عمومی-28 General Health Questionnaire, GHQ-28)  ) چهار بعد: علائم جسمانی، اضطراب و بی‌خوابی، اختلال عملکرد اجتماعی و افسردگی  مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. تجزیه و تحلیل های آماری شامل t-tests ⸲  ANOVA و همبستگی پیرسون و رگرسیون کمترین و بیشترین درجه 28 GHQ-با میانگین معدل ترم با استفاده از نرم افزار SPSS-26 انجام شد.
یافته‌ها: نتایج ارتباط منفی بین شکایات جسمانی(r=-0.12 , P=0.04)  ،  اضطراب (r=-0.18 , P=0.01)، افسردگی  (r=-0.22 , P=0.01) با پیشرفت تحصیل را نشان دادند. در حالیکه، کارکرد اجتماعی با پیشرفت تحصیلی، ارتباط مثبت داشت.(r=0.23 and P=0.01)  ۳۷٪ از دانشجویان نمره بالاتر از حد نصاب گرفتند که نشان‌دهنده مشکلات بالقوه سلامت روان است.
نتیجه‌گیری:  یافته‌ها نشان میدهد که چون سلامت روان ضعیف و عوامل ایجاد کننده آن همچون اضطراب و افسردگی موجب کاهش پیشرفت تحصیلی و عملکرد اجتماعی ضعیف موجب افزایش پیشرفت تحصیلی میگردند، باید غربالگری سلامت روان و برنامه‌های حمایتی در دانشگاه‌ها اجرا شود، همچنین به منظور به دست آوردن نتایج قابل اطمینان‌تر حجم نمونه بزرگتری مورد مطالعه قرار گیرد.

Background and purpose: Medical students frequently encounter significant stress due to their substantial workload, clinical obligations, and the competitive nature of their environment, all of which can adversely affect their mental health and academic performance. This study aims to examine the mental health status of medical students at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences and its association with their academic performance.
Materials and methods: For this purpose, 222 medical students were randomly selected from a list of students and their high school or last semester GPAs, and assessed using the General Health Questionnaire-28 on four dimensions: physical symptoms, anxiety and insomnia, social dysfunction, and depression. Statistical analyses including t-tests, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation, were performed using SPSS software.
Results: The results showed a negative correlation between physical complaints (r=-0.12, P=0.04), anxiety (r=-0.18, P=0.01), and depression (r=-0.22, P=0.01) with academic progress. While, social functioning had a positive correlation with academic achievement. (r=0.23 and P=0.01). 37% of students scored above the cutoff, indicating potential mental health issues.
Conclusion: These findings suggest that given that poor mental health, including factors such as anxiety and depression, is associated with diminished academic performance, while inadequate social functioning correlates with enhanced academic progress, it is imperative to implement mental health screening and support programs within university settings. Furthermore, it is recommended that studies employ a larger sample size to ensure the reliability of the results.
